Mcap closes at $5-trn mark as investors’ wealth rises Rs 22.59 lakh cr

The combined market capitalisation (mcap) of BSE-listed companies closed at historic $5-trillion mark for the first time on Wednesday amid an optimistic trend in equities.

At the close of trade, the mcap on BSE stood at Rs4,15,94,033.72 crore (Rs415.94 lakh cr or $5 trillion), its all-time high. Investor wealth rose for the ninth straight trading session on Wednesday. Investors gained Rs22.59 lakh crore on Wednesday.
